Το Τμήμα Βιολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης δέχεται αιτήσεις για εκπόνηση Διδακτορικής Διατριβής καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια του έτους και τις διεκπεραιώνει στις Συνελεύσεις του Τμήματος που ακολουθούν.

Call for PhD applications
The Department of Biology, University of Crete (U.o.C.), is warmly inviting prospective candidates to apply for PhD studies throughout the year.
Applicants must be holders of a Master’s degree awarded by a Greek University or a Foreign University (academic recognition by DOATAP is required). The candidates’ background knowledge must be relevant and of equivalent quality standards as those of our Department. Candidates who do not hold a Master's Degree may be accepted, as long as they comply with the Department’s prerequisites.
Candidates should submit the application using the https://postgrad.cict.uoc.gr website only. If you are using it for the first time, you will be required to register submitting your personal data.
Candidates should fill in the application form and interest report available at https://postgrad.cict.uoc.gr and submit the following documents:
1. Letter of acceptance from a Faculty Member of the Department of Biology, U.o.C. or a collaborating Researcher
2. An application form specifying the topic of the PhD thesis and the 3 member advisory committee (the form is attached)
3. A summary of the proposed PhD thesis
4. A certified copy of both First and Master’s Degrees and their transcripts, in English or translated in Greek by certified translator from the Greek Embassy
5. A copy of Diploma in English language (for candidates with mother language other than English)
6. Two letters of recommendation (they will be sent directly from the referees to bervan@uoc.gr)
7. A photo (Type: .png or jpeg/ 2MB/ 200px x 200px)
