The Department of Mathematics & Applied Mathematics of the University of Crete, the Computer Science Department of the University of Crete, the Institute of Applied & Computational Mathematics (IACM) of FORTH and the Institute of Computer Science (ICS) of FORTH, invite applications for the Master’s Program:
"Data Analysis & Machine-Statistical Learning"
for the academic year 2025-2026. The application deadline is May 26th 2025. The program accepts applicants with a strong background in mathematics, computer science, engineering, statistics, and applied mathematics. Suitable candidates should hold a recent university degree in any of the above or similar disciplines.
The official language of the program is ENGLISH. The tuition fees are 2000 Euros for EUstudents and 3500 Euros for non-EU students.
Selection Criteria: The selection criteria are, a) undergraduate and/or graduate scores, b) recommendation letters, awards, or any other academic achievements and c) personal interview.
Interview process: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The interview will be of short duration (maximum 15-20min) and will concern, the candidates' goals and interests, and their performance in courses of earlier study cycles. It will also include discussion/questions concerning the program, and on the prospects after obtaining the master's degree. Interviews will be conducted at the discretion of the evaluation committee, online via the Zoom platform during the period 9-14/6/2025.

According to the Greek law 4957/2022, holders of academic degrees awarded by foreign Higher Education Institutions do not have to apply to National Academic Recognition Information Center (DOATAP) for the recognition of their degree, as a prerequisite to continue their studies at a higher level in a Greek Higher Education Institution. The University of Crete is responsible for the academic assessment of your degree/s.
