The Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of the University of Aegean, within the framework of the European project 3D-CIRCULAR (Digital Deep tech Driven Circular Economy), has established and has been offering the operation of a fully remote, English taught Postgraduate Studies Program M.Sc. in Digital Deep Tech Driven Circular Economy.

The programme was established in accordance with Decision No. 53 (Extraordinary Meeting, 31 July 2026) of the University Senate, Agenda Item 7.1, entitled: "Establishment and Operation of the MSc Programme of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication, University of the Aegean, entitled 'Digital Deep Tech Driven Circular Economy' (Master of Science in 'Digital Deep Tech Driven Circular Economy')" (Government Gazette No. 4882/05.08.2026).

The primary objective of the program is to focus on the interdisciplinary convergence of advanced digital technologies with the principles of the circular economy. The program addresses critical academic and societal challenges by aligning with international, European, and national strategic priorities. It aims to equip graduates with an integrated skillset combining digital expertise and sustainable ("green") practices. Through targeted workforce upskilling and reskilling, the program contributes directly to bridging current skill gaps and fostering a resilient digital circular economy across the European Union.

In the academic year 2026-2027, a maximum of 250 postgraduate students will be admitted to the Postgraduate Program.

The following are admitted to the Postgraduate Program:

A. Holders of a first-cycle degree from a domestic university or recognized foreign institution in accordance with the provisions of Law 4957/2022 as in force.

B. Graduates from the country's Higher Military Educational Institutions (HMEs), namely graduates from the Military Academy of Evelpidon (SSE), from the Naval Cadet School (SND), from the Icarus School (SI), (article 88 Law 3883/2010, Government Gazette 167/24-9-2010, vol. A) and from the Military Academy of Officers (SSAS) (article 1. Par. e of Law 3883/2010).

C. Graduates from the Hellenic Police Officers' School (paragraph 5, article 38, Law 4249/2014 - Government Gazette 73/Α΄/24.03.2014), the Firefighters' School of the Fire Academy (paragraph 14, article 69, Law 4249/2014 2014 - Government Gazette 73/Α΄/24.03.2014) and the Coast Guard - Hellenic Coast Guard - Ensign Cadet School (S.D.S.L.S. - EL.AKT.) are also accepted (article 1, Presidential Decree 75/2018 - Government Gazette 145/Α΄/07.08.2018).

In addition, graduate students from the above domestic institutions are accepted, provided that they have completed their obligations and have provided a relevant certificate by the date of their registration in the MSc Program (October 2026).

The teaching of the courses, within the framework of current legislation, is done through modern distance learning, with the aim of promoting equal opportunities and universal access to categories of postgraduate students with restrictions on participation in face-to face educational activities (e.g. employees, parents, permanent residents outside the University headquarters, people with mobility difficulties and others). Educational activities not guided by teaching staff, individual and/or group study and practice of postgraduate students in individual courses, are carried out through their remote access to appropriate services of the asynchronous distance learning system.

The minimum duration for awarding the Diploma is three (3) academic semesters.

During the first and second semesters, a total of thirteen (13) courses are offered, of which the student must attend and successfully pass nine (9). The third semester of studies is dedicated to the preparation of the postgraduate thesis. Specifically, postgraduate students must attend and successfully pass the courses as follows:

In the 1st Semester, in four (4) Compulsory (M) courses.

In the 2nd Semester, in two (2) Compulsory (M) courses and in three (3) Elective (E) courses.

In the 3rd semester, postgraduate students must prepare and be successfully examined in the Postgraduate Diploma Thesis.

The courses are conducted purely in the English language. Accordingly, the language of writing of the postgraduate diploma thesis is English.

The required level of English language proficiency may be demonstrated by one of the following:

• State Certificate of Greek Law 2740/1999, as replaced by paragraph 19 of article 13 of Greek Law 3149/2003,
• Degree in English Language and Literature or Degree in Translation and Interpretation from Greek or equivalent non-Greek institutions,
• Degree, undergraduate or postgraduate, or doctoral diploma from any accredited higher education institution outside Greece in English,
• Other language certificates of proficiency at B2 level in English as stated in the current Annex of Proof of Language Proficiency by the Supreme Council of Civil Personal Selection in Greece.
• A school-leaving certificate equivalent to that issued by Greek secondary education institutions, if it was obtained in English following at least six years of regular attendance outside Greece.

The foreign language teaching proficiency license does not prove knowledge of the foreign language (Greek Presidential Decree 347/2003). Candidates holding such a license must present a certified copy and an accurate translation of the degree based on which the language proficiency license was issued.

Applicants who meet the formal eligibility requirements will subsequently be invited to an interview, which may be conducted either synchronously (live) or asynchronously. The date and time, together with any relevant instructions, will be communicated to the applicants and announced on the Master's Programme website (https://3d-circular-msc.aegean.gr).

An application fee of 100 euros is payable when submitting your application, which is non refundable and not covered by the tuition waiver. This is an administrative fee for the use of the platform and is not collected by the University of the Aegean nor by the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication.

Those interested who, after the evaluation process, are accepted into the Program, pay a registration fee of five hundred (500) euros. This fee is not refunded to the candidates, even if they decide not to attend the program.

To attend the MSc Program, the tuition fees of postgraduate students from Greece and other EU countries are fully covered by the European 3D-CIRCULAR (Digital Deep tech Driven Circular Economy) funded by the DIGITAL-2024-ADVANCED-DIGITAL-07 program (Contract No. 101226256). For postgraduate students coming from countries outside the EU, the tuition fees are five thousand (5,000) euros.

A number of scholarships are available to postgraduate students. They may also be eligible for free meals and student accommodation, in accordance with the applicable legislation and the regulations and decisions of the University.
