Ελληνικό Μεσογειακό Πανεπιστήμιο: Erasmus Mundus Master’s programme EMINENT (2026-2028)

Admission Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s (BSc) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Computer Science or equivalent programmes (Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent) with at least 180 ECTS. The final grade will be translated to the German grading system using the modified Bavarian formula. The translated grade should be at least a 2.7 (in the German grading system). The BSc must have been obtained by a nationally recognised university and be recognised by all partner institutions’ national legislation. If proof of qualification (bachelor’s degree) is not available at the time of application, students can be admitted conditionally. In this case, they need to submit an official statement from their university stating the expected graduation date and the missing courses in the application form. The final degree certificate and transcript of academic records have to be submitted until the 1st of August in the respective year to finalize the admission procedure. If the original language in the document is not English, an authorized translation has to be submitted as well.

English skills
Good command of English language skills: upper B2 level validated by a certification issued by a test-center (no online home tests) i.e. TOEFL iBT (minimum score 93), IELTS Academic (minimum score 6.5 with no individual score under 6), PTE Academic (minimum score 63), Cambridge English Qualifications (minimum score 178) or Oxford test of English Advanced (minimum score 137). “Medium of Instruction” (MOI) certificates are not sufficient. The result of the test should be valid at least 14 days after the application deadline. Candidates that have obtained their bachelor’s (or master’s) degree in a study course taught in the English language in an EU country or in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the USA, or Switzerland do not require an English test result, if the study course was fully taught in the English language. For nationals of countries where English is the ONLY OFFICIAL language, proof of English language skills is also not required.

Other requirements
The following information needs to be uploaded with the application form:

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from scholars of the completed undergraduate programme – max one non-academic PHD holder
  • Information on acquired Soft Skills, publications and relevant experience (e.g., working experience) – optionally
  • CV
  • Copy of passport
  • Additional documentation might be required for enrolement and VISA applications (APS,…)

Scholarships
Each applicant will automatically be considered to receive a scholarship. The EMINENT scholarship has a duration of up to 2 years and covers travel and living expenses through a monthly payment of 1,400€.
To keep a scholarship, the grant holder must successfully pass the first two semester modules with an average grade of 2.7 (in the German grading system).
Students who are accepted to the programme but not awarded a scholarship are invited to join the programme at their own expense. In such cases, additional funding opportunities may be available: admitted students without an EMINENT scholarship can apply for the Erasmus+ scholarship, which may cover some expenses during the second year of studies (3rd and 4th semester). Another option is to apply for external scholarships such as those offered by the DAAD.

The programme will be opened for new applications from 1 November 2025 until 1 March 2026
Admission/rejection letters will be sent in May
Non-European students should start their visa application immediately after receiving their invitation letter (the procedure will take at least 2-3 months.
