Are you passionate about understanding the molecular basis of health and disease, and translating your findings into clinical applications?

The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association (MDC) jointly with Humboldt-Universität and Freie Universität, offers fully funded PhD positions to promising young scientists wishing to pursue research doctorate training in the fields of:

  • Cardiovascular research and metabolic diseases
  • Cancer and immunology
  • Developmental Biology
  • Medical systems biology and bioinformatics
  • Mathematical modeling
  • Structural biology
  • Neurobiology
  • Biophysics

Embedded in the excellent scientific and international environment of the campus of Berlin-Buch, MDC will offer you the opportunity to develop your research career towards state of the art fundamental molecular biology, genomics and translational medicine in one of our 65 basic or clinical research groups.

How to apply?

You should hold or expect to obtain a research Master degree or German diploma not later than August 2018. The MDC accepts applications from students with degrees in chemistry, biology, molecular medicine, and related subjects, as well as students from quantitative sciences (including computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics) for biophysical or theoretical PhD projects.
