The full call for Hardiman 2018 is open. The Hardiman PhD Scholarships will provide a stipend of €16,000 per annum plus fees for four years.
Who are these scholarships for?
Students starting their PhD in September 2018. The Hardiman PhD Scholarships are fully funded for four years, with a stipend of €16,000 p.a. plus fees. High-achieving dynamic individuals, with drive and passion, who have an appetite for the research world and creativity, who thrive on intellectual excitement, and who will positively impact and shape the future for all in our society.
The aim is to attract the best students to NUI Galway and to support their development as innovative individuals who will contribute globally to economic, cultural and social development.

The Hardiman Scholarships offer opportunities for suitably qualified individuals to pursue a Structured PhD focused on the five key areas of research in which the University offers leading expertise.
These are:
· Biomedical Science & Engineering
· Informatics, Physical, and Computational Sciences
· Environment, Marine, and Energy
· Applied Social Science and Public Policy
· Humanities in Context

Successful applicants will be expected to have a first or upper second class honours primary degree or equivalent.
