Το Greek Turkish Young Leaders Symposium αναζητά 15 Έλληνες φοιτητές

Το Greek Turkish Young Leaders Symposium (GTYLS) on Security που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στην Καβάλα μεταξύ 4-7 Δεκεμβρίου, σε συνεργασία με το Navarino Network και το Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom αναζητά 15 Έλληνες φοιτητές να συμμετάσχουν σε αυτό.

Όλα τα έξοδα θα είναι πληρωμένα για τη διαμονή και τη διατροφή των φοιτητών, εκτός από τα έξοδα μετακίνησης στην Καβάλα.

Οι συμμετέχοντες θα είναι 15 Έλληνες και 15 Τούρκοι (22 έως 35 ετών).

Προθεσμία υποβολής αιτήσεων 25 Οκτωβρίου.

The Center for International and European Studies (CIES) is happy to announce that the 5th Greek-Turkish Young Leaders Symposium (GTYLS) on Security will be be held in Kavala, Greece on 4-7 December 2019 in in partnership with the Thessaloniki-based Navarino Network, and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. The Greek-Turkish Young Leaders Symposium (GTYLS) on Security will include the participation of 15 Greek and 15 Turkish International Relations and related specialists (MA students, PhD candidates, young PhD scholars, and professionals), aged between 22 and around 35 years old, and Greek and Turkish experts that will act as speakers and trainers. 

The GTYLS includes sessions on The State of the WorldUnderstanding Turkish and Greek Foreign PoliciesAssessing the State of Greek-Turkish RelationsCommunicating Greek-Turkish RelationsNATO’s Role, and Young Leaders and Engagement. All debates and discussions will be channeled into the “Peer to Peer Workshop” facilitated by an expert trainer where participants will work together to develop collaborative project proposals.

Participants are expected to meet the criteria listed below:

  • Specialists in International Relations and other relevant disciplines (MA students, PhD candidates, young PhD scholars, and professionals)
  • 22-35 years of age or thereabouts.
  • An interest in the areas of international relations, foreign policy, security, political economy, civil society engagement, NATO, and Greek-Turkish relations.
  • Willing to establish networks and dialogue between Greece and Turkey.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.

Please note that the language of the Symposium is English.

The organizers will cover round trip travel from Istanbul to Kavala (for the Turkish participants); accommodation in Kavala for the duration of the Symposium (3 nights including breakfast for all non-Kavala based participants); lunch for 3 days; and two dinners. Please note that although the Symposium is open to participants from all parts of Turkey and Greece and they are especially encouraged to apply, the organizers will only provide for bus travel between Istanbul and Kavala. All Participants and speakers from Turkey will be travelling to Kavala together on the morning of 4 December by chartered bus from Istanbul and will return together on the afternoon of 7 December.

The CIES may provide on a need basis a small travel stipend for those attending the Symposium from elsewhere in Greece.
