Call for expression of interest for post-doctoral fellow positions at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute.

The laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology – Stem cells (https://www.pasteur.gr/en/cellmolecneuro/) is seeking for exceptional and creative young scientists to fill the post-doctoral research positions within the project “Development of a multi-parametric morpho-functional platform to uncover disease mechanisms and druggable targets in patient-derived cells: study of neuron-glia dynamics in alpha synuclein-mediated pathologies” funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.) within the framework of the “1st Call for H.F.R.I. research projects to support Faculty members and the procurement of high-value research equipment” with Dr Rebecca Matsas as PI.

In particular, we seek for:

  1. A post-doctoral research fellow with strong experience in bioinformatics that will work on the analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, single cell transcriptomics) from human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived astrocytes and neurons modeling Parkinson’s Disease in vitro. Background in biology wet lab is welcome.
  2. A post-doctoral research fellow to support the development and operation of the High Content/High Throughput Imaging Platform to be established. Skills in computational engineering, algorithm development (MATLAB, R etc) and advanced digital image processing/ big data analysis are essential.
  3. A post-doctoral research fellow with strong background in cellular and molecular (neuro)biology and experience in cell culture, morphological and molecular analyses, and confocal microscopy. Previous knowledge in electrophysiology or drug screening approaches will be advantageous.

The successful candidates are expected to be highly motivated and have the ability to work independently, yet be fully integrated in the research team. Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to obtain experience, training, and collaboration opportunities.
